What about carmex?...

Hi everyone, today I am going to be giving you my thoughts on carmex. If you are not aware of this brand it is basically just lip balms and they come in all different scents or just the original. I have been trying out carmex for a while now and a good thing is that I was given a new one for christmas, YAY! :~)

At first I did not like carmex, the smell was and still is it's biggest downfall. It smells like menthol which call relate to vicks (the vaporised rub:)) and I can't stand it, especially as your nose is right above your mouth. If you didn't know:)

The above picture is the pot of Carmex. There is also a squeezy tube of Carmex available for purchase which is much more practical for when you don't want too touch your lips. I do own the squeezy tube but when it came to taking the pictures it wanted to just disapear.

As you can from the images above this lip balm is a really weird yellowish color, just to note this does not show on your lips :) The lip balm itself is really thick and gloopy but at the same time it's not too sticky either. The way I use lip balms is apply them at night and then leave to absorb for the morning. This way Carmex does work and makes my lips really nice and soft.

Overall I like this lip balm excluding the smell! I can't believe I just wrote a whole Blogpost on one lip balm. Well done if you read all the way through! Thank you so so much for reading this post and I am planning on doing some more today, butt.... I have homework which ruins everything!:( I have taken the picture though so there might be a few, let's wait and see.

Thanks for reading!:)

Born Lippy Lip Balms, A lippypop...

Hi everyone, so as you all may know Christmas has just been and now I am fully stocked up on things to write about! Today I am going to be writing a not really in depth review on the born lippy lip balms from the body shop. My mom and dad got me this lollipop shaped product from the body shop for christmas, as you can see by the images it held 5 beautiful lip balms, so let's get started!

First of all the lip balms came packaged like a lollipop (or tree as some people say it is)  I like to call it a Lippypop thought, hehe! Here is what it looked like:
Sorry about poor lighting L

So to keep it simple and not too long and boring I am going to just list all the scents and write about them that way. This way of life is easy for me because I am absolutely rubbish at sentence starters.

Raspberry- Omg! The one word to sum this up. I love raspberry scents and as you may be able to tell this is raspberry. Definitely not obvious. This is the slight tinted pink one, but don't go buying them for that because the tint in them is so faint that I thought it was just my eyes going funny and making things look slightly colored, by they weren't. I am going to say this one is moisturizing but so are all of them!:)

Strawberry- Ahhh! I feel as though strawberry is the most common scent. It is seen everywhere and it's such a classic for the scent world. Slightly tinted, I mean the tiniest little bit, red! I absolutely love this one, who am I kidding, I love them all!

Satsuma Shimmer- Ohh! A little different this one. It's not boom in your face orange because as I keep saying they are practically transparent. This one has shimmer in it (if you haven't guessed already by the name) and that shimmer shimmer is 'see-able'.

Then, there is...Watermelon! I absolutely love watermelon, it's my favorite fruit and  as soon as I saw this one I freaked out. This doesn't show up but it's tinted a light peach color~Beautiful! I am not so keen on the scent though I do have to say, it smells like the fake scent of watermelon. Obviously watermelon doesn't have a smell really so if they were to make it smell not so fake then it would smell practically like nothing!:)

Finally is passionberry. This one is coloured purple and smells, legit, like gummy sweets. I love the scent! There is not much more to say about this one because I would literally be repeating myself but let's just say it's lovely! By the way this one is also mousterizing (like all of the other lip balms too). Here is the image:

So that is all of the lip balms I had to try from the body shop! These lip balms retail at £2.00 each which I think is really good for these because they are moisturizing. If you would like to save yourself £3.00 then you can get all of these in the lollipop for just £7.00 down from £10.00. The body Shop also do lip balms in the form of a stick which come in different flavors too. I do highly recommend these and if you don't have a body shop near you, don't worry you can still be in with the hype online HERE.

That's all for today. Bye!Xx

Acrylics, YES or NO!

Hi everyone so I just want to say, Happy New Year! Today I am talking about acrylic nails and weather you should or should not get them. Overall it's your choice and what happened to me when I got them is not necessarily going to happen to you, but I did write at the end of my other post that I would write this so here it is!

So first I will start by telling you my story. From the beginning, I had really wanted to get my nails done (or get acrylics) for a very very long time as my very close aunt has them. My mom thought it would actually be able to strengthen my nails because I was trying to grow them out at the time. Finally, after a while my mom, being amazing, gave in and allowed me to get them done. I went first time and it was fine the place I went to isn't the best as they rush to get more people done, once or twice they did file my skin around the nail which hurt but you know, it was cool! The nails lasted a few weeks and I then went back to this place, with my aunt, to get them redone/infills. This time was different, I felt like he had pushed the acrylic down to hard onto my nail, but so that it was digging into my nails really hard. He had done this to both of my pinkies/baby fingers:) When he was putting the varnish that makes the acrylic shiney on my nails it really stung and my nails were hurting so so so bad! I thought to my self to just get over it but around a month of hitting it almost everywhere (on the banisters, on my bed, all the little places!) it had gotten to the point where I was in agony and found the pain of these two nails unbearable. I told my mom and aunt and they told me that if they hurt so bad I need to get them off. Don't worry it's not a horror, I feel like this is getting tense!:D So my aunt soaked my nails in acetone -which killed- and filed away at my acrylics until they were as this as my normal nails. She they had to pull them off which didn't hurt really, it was only the fake nail so it wouldn't be painful. I washed my hand to see my little finger nail split in half and it looked blue, that's how swollen it was! That was it really. My poor baby nails were in half, gross I know, and my nail has only really just grown back.

So that was my story:) I feel like this post is too serious but how else are you meant to say it?! I wouldn't say that this experience put me off getting my nails done, infact I am getting an acrylic coat over the top of my natural nails soon to keep them strong. You may be thinking, why? well  they aren't going to be long so I won't catch them on anything and the acrylic is just going to be keeping them strong, for real this time?! I'm not sure!

I know that this picture was in my other post but its what my nails looked like  :

Definitely get your nails done if you want them, but at first they do kind of hurt. I love the patterns they can do at nail shops, in fact when I get my nails done I am getting a pattern too; Don't know what yet but I will most likely post about them. I am still humming and ahring about getting them done though so if there is not a post, you know why!:)

Anyway, that's all for today!

All About Nails!

Hi everyone so today I am going to be writing about my favorite nail varnishes. I do have to say it took me an extremely long time to decide which varnishes/polishes would be in my 'selection' because none of you know this but I would say I am a nail varnish-a-holic! I don't know what it is but I do just like to see that my nails are painted, perfectly, with no chips, in a colour I like. This makes me sound insane! None of the nail polishes go together and I would like to say that I don't mind wearing 'summer shades' in winter or vice versa, It's my nail dammit! If you really like a nail polish and the only reason your putting of wearing it is because it's not the right season, that's no excuse! So here they are, lucky little ones, chosen for my blog post:
♥So first is a jme polish, very uncommon and to be honest I do not even know where you can get your hands on one of these but this is my favourites, right? It's a beautiful pink shade, NEON, I adore it and the sparkles just make it like a glitter bomb in a bottle. This is the shade 85 (if you can ever get your hands on these). I just have one thing to say that I don't really like about this polish, it's almost like a coat, weird saying it but if you pick a bit of or it starts to chip, I find the whole layer of varnish just peels right off. Sounds gross, sorry!:)
Jme polish...

♥Next is a nail varnish from Ciate, I absolutely love Ciate I just think it's so cute with the bows on them. The colour is Speed Dial and is a beautiful beautiful orange shade! I know it just seems a bit crazy raving about an...ORANGE polish but this is such a beautiful colour! I know I'm am being plain annoying and repeating myself but it's true. I have worn this in the past with Barry M nail paint in the colour diamond glitter over the top and it really does just give your nails that colour but it still looks gorgeous!

♥Next is actually the Barry M diamond glitter nail polish. OMG! This is the best glitter I have ever tried. It is a silver glitter with small chunks and larger chunks of glitter. I do have to say that even though the glitter is suspended in clear polish, it still apply's a lot a lot of glitter. I have no hates with this one really, but if your not the glitter type and hate to remove glitter polish then this is not for you, it's still a glitter you know?!
Barry M nail paint

Sorry I only have one image:(

♥We're almost there, I promise! The next one is from Rimmel London and it is in the shade purple reign. This is apart of the 60 seconds range, but to be honest I do think that it takes a little longer than 60 seconds to dry, trust me I have tried it! I really love this shade because it's the perfect purple but has shimmer in it. The brush on my one is the 1 second application brush and is really easy to use, this sounds just silly that a nail varnish brush is easy to use but trust me I have nail varnishes that are extremely difficult to work with. If you are worried about the shimmer being totally totally noticable (like if it looked like a glitter) don't worry because it's not. The shimmer is simply just silver and makes the polish look awesome and I would like to say frosty but it's not too over powering. If you don't like shimmer but are still looking for a Rimmel London nail polish which is purple I would recommend: purple pulse, it's not matte but has no shimmer nor glitter. It is apart of the I love lasting Finish range. Here is a picture of the purple reign one:
Rimmel London

Again I only have one image, but I figured that with the Rimmel London ones you can see the colour, name and brand on the front:)

♥Finally is the Sally Hansen maximum growth nail polish in the colour Crimson Spirit. This is a beautiful red but it's not to bright and has shimmer in it. It's really 'pigmented' (can a nail polish be pigmented?) and one coat is plenty but usually unless I am in a rush I always like to do two coats, way way enough for this polish!
Sally Hansen

So that is all! I hope you all enjoyed this ramble of a post and I wish you all a happy new year. I am going to be writing another post today, I'm just feeling like I want to write:) The next post is about nails again but its about acrylics! Bye everyone!:) Xx

A Change Around Here!

Hi everyone so you may have noticed (if you read my blog before) there have been some changes around here! I have changed my header and I can most definitely that it's for the better. I love this new design, it took me a while to create, I hope you all like it too. I'm soon to mess around with the layout of my blog, or what I like the call the insides of my blog, and see if that will make a difference. I know that this is a bit of a cheat at writing a post because there is nothing to talk about but maybe in a moment or in the morning I will be writing a review on some things,EXCITING!:) It is now so late at night but all evening I have been trying different headers and all things like that and I obviously couldn't leave without a post could I? All my posts to come will be much better than this, but this is just, well...An update!? (shall I say:?). So I might right another post tonight, I'm feeling up to it, but for now Bye!:)

NEW ROUTINE!

Hello there everyone:)

Today I thought I would start a new start completely! As you can tell I have deleted all of the posts that were posted in the past and decided to just, basically, start a fresh. If you are wondering my blog will basically just be reviews of products and even, maybe, just what I get up too if there is no more products to review about on that day.

I'm sure you don't know this, as this is kind of a new thing now, but I have a subscription to receive a glossy box every month. If you are unaware of what a glossy box is then I'll tell you! Basically if you have a subscription with them you will receive a glossy box every month, but don't panic you can buy glossy boxes as gifts or a one off treat:) but you get 5 luxury items, well they are supposed to be luxury items but sometimes they sneak in a few 'drugstore' items, each month. So if you would like to try out a glossy box then hears a link: http://www.glossybox.co.uk/ p.s they are only £10 a month!

Also, the title does say a new routine, I have already explained what I mean about this. But not fully! I also mean that every single day I am going to cleanse my face and moisturise my skin. So far I have lasted about 3 days and am keeping to my word. Here is a small review of what I have been using:
Olay gentle cleansers refreshing toner
p.s these are not my images as my webcam was playing up:( sorry
I have used this a fair bit to review it now and personally I think that its quite good. Its great at removing makeup, because i actually want to be a beautician, and it feels really good on my skin and the best thing is that it doesn't bring me out with spots. It does wake me up and my skin feels refreshed!

Organic surge duper intensive moisturiser for dry skin
This is really good as well. I received this form Junes glossy box. I have to point out though this has the most unusual smell of...Turkish delight! It is very moisturizing and I actually like it.
Olay gentle cleansers refreshing face wash
This comes out as a clear, extremely runny liquid which makes it difficult to work with but once you have got it out of the bottle it rubs into your skin really well and basically  does the same as the toner but this wakes me up a tiny bit more!

That's it for today everyone as I think I have bombarded you with information but I'm going to end by saying that I might to a June glossy box review and basically write all of the items that I received and simply write a review about them!

See you soon! :D
